February 2021 called our entrepreneur spirits to stay in Tampa to try and make some money selling Super Bowl goodies. We spent a few hours making koozies and shirts, set up our table and tent outside a high traffic gas station, and waited for business to come to us. What we didn’t expect was a visit from the actual National Football League.

Yep. The NFL rolled up on us like the damn Avengers squad. Car pulled up and five representatives hopped out, put their sunglasses on, and started waving badges before asking us if we knew we were breaking the law. Whoa, whoa, whoa! No sir, we did not! I thought we were going to jail guys. I saw us locked up over shirts that said “Rollin’ With MaHomies” and koozies with stickers that highlighted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers accomplishment of being the 2021 NFC Champions. Please sir, I enjoy the little freedom we have!!! They confiscated most of our product and gave us a warning, but of course being life long learners, we wanted a lesson on why.

To make these products, we bought what is called a cut file, or SVG, to use with our Cricut. We thought, since its not actual licensed images, we could use them to sell. Not the case. If it looks TOO similar, the NFL was allowed to take it. “Rollin’ With MaHomies” was a clever play on words and it was fine to sell, but the Tampa Bay logo looked too close so it was a wrap for those. We asked what they would do with the shirts and they said burn them. I wish they would’ve just donated them to the homeless. But we were too grateful for not being in real trouble that thinking about suggesting that to them was not on our minds at the time.
So since our tent now looked sold out, we packed up, gave the remaining shirts to our friend who was also selling and dashed back to Orlando. We had a play date with our beautiful friend turned family Brittney and her two kids. We met baby Grace, the coolest baby ever in my opinion, and then made the decision that we were done with Florida. We were ready for NEW sights and Trippy was surprisingly riding really well, and by ‘well’ I mean now we can reach a good 45-50mph compared to the previous 15. It’s actually perfect since we want to really enjoy the journey and it’s much better to ride safe and slow since it’s an entire house we’re driving. We get to Atlanta to hang out with some friends and family before we start trekking to states we’ve never been.

Atlanta proves to be much hillier than we anticipated and Trippy is WORKING. It was also probably too cold for the poor little engine so there was a lotttttt of touchy times we didn’t know if she was gonna start. There was one hill in particular that I kid you not, made it seem like we were driving up Mount Everest. It was SO steep and quite honestly, terrifying to try and putt putt our way up. We looked at each other and said she’s got this and Bae drove very cautiously up. It took us about 5 minutes to get up what a normal car would’ve cleared in probably 15 seconds. Eventually we made it to see more family and friends and we visited the Georgia Aquarium (which in our honest opinion was way too expensive for a little family, but there was a nice whale show that made it “worth it” I guess).

The last thing that we needed to pick up was our ECO Flow Solar Generator that would serve as our backup power on the road. It was a $1500 investment will allow us to continue to be off grid and because it’s solar we don’t have to worry about extra gas or not being able to use it indoors. We’re really excited about this purchase because we did so much research across many various brands and we believe it was the best one. Can’t wait to share how it works out for us. So the newly powered TRIPPP continues!!
Life is a TRIPPP, SO TAKE ONE!
